Why is BMI important? Because the higher the BMI, the greater the risk. Time after time I read comments of women seeking a plastic surgeon who accepts high BMI. Standards set by surgeons in the US will not allow a procedure if your BMI is over 30. In the DR, I've seen surgeons accept as high as 36. However, many are realizing the risk and reducing it to 34. For standards in Colombia, I've seen 32 as the maximum BMI level. Research has shown risk factors for heart attack, wound infection, and urinary tract infections are greater when the BMI is higher to name a few.

A snatched waist isn't the only part of your body you should want to look slim or small. The "linebacker" look is real and not appealing. I recommend getting down to a stable weight that you know you can maintain.

It's ok to postpone your plastic surgery and seek bariatric surgery (weightloss surgery) first. It will make your final results look that much better, not to mention health wise you'll feel that much better.

*Seroma Treatment*
✔Drainage — The fluid through a syringe. Some may require multiple drainage procedures
✔Punctures (Fine-Needle Aspiration) — By creating several individual fine-needle punctures in the seroma, the doctor is able to remove up to 500 milliliters of fluid. This is a good option for those with larger seroma.
✔Surgical Removal — In instances where the seroma returns despite regular draining and other treatments, doctors may recommend removing the seroma through surgery.
✔Natural Healing — In cases of small and non-persistent seromas, doctors may suggest that the patient allow the site to heal itself naturally. In many cases, the body will absorb the fluid on its own.
*Seroma Prevention*
The best way to prevent seroma is to ✔choose a board-certified plastic surgeon with several years of experience, while this won't guarantee you'll be seroma free it'll lessen your chances.

]]>🔹️Eating Regiment🔹️
In order to maintain good results after liposuction, you should incorporate more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein into your diet, while reducing the intake of sugars, simple carbohydrates, and saturated fats. Eating several smaller meals throughout the day will help maintain your energy levels and keep you from feeling deprived between meals. Frequent hydration is also important. Drinking a sufficient amount of water during the day helps control hunger, maintains a healthy metabolism,
and aids in digestion.
🔹️Foods to Avoid🔹️
•Salty Foods: Are not recommended for during post-operative recovery. High levels of sodium can promote inflammation in your body and slow the healing process.
•Sugary Food: You should limit or restrict the consumption of sugary foods after liposuction. Consuming sugary foods following surgery can result in unnecessary weight gain during the healing process
